Oxymoron - Mana! Slow Fast Food
Oxymoron is a literal technique that puts two opposite words together to draw a bigger contrast: consider beautiful ugly, etc. But oxymoron does not only appear on books: it exists in real life as well, say the new vegetarian cafe called Mana! Slow Fast Food along Wellington Street right next to the always-busy Nga Thrang.
Slow eating and fast food - yes. I believe what makes eating 'slow' at Mana is the quality and meaning behind the food, while 'fast' refers to the speed and way of serving: similar to most fast food chains, you self yourself and wait for your number to be called. But Mana definitely has more to offer than plain, unhealthy 'fast' foods.

thank god it's LATTE DAY (13) 啡之煉金術師 - Espresso Alchemy
上週到港島東區一趟,順道到那邊尋啡一下:我的咖啡清單長又長,不知何月才能清完!
順著太古坊的幾條大路,很快就找到在全港第一間獨立經營的Mc Cafe旁的Espresso Alchemy.Alchemy,煉金術也;難怪這裡的店主想吧咖啡用煉金方法調配不成?

大得很無腦 - Paisano's
上週吃過新開張的Pubblico Pizzeria ,這週就來幾街之隔的Paisano's。兩間同樣自稱為正宗紐約薄餅店,供應大大個紐約式pizza。講起後者,記得從前坐巴士回家時總看見那位於擺花街的小鋪,滿溢的外國人客都是一片片一樽樽的好興奮。
如今已站得好穩的Paisano's下至上環,上至西貢亦有分店,版圖更越劃越廣!但我卻是從未到訪-那片巨pizza實在巨得太恐怖了.

thank god it's LATTE DAY (12) Coco Chanel - Coco Espresso
自從第一次到訪,加上最近於中環工作,所以常有和Coco見面的機會.
獲選為世界百大重要人物,同名品牌仍是頂尖時裝名牌,看似柔弱的Coco Chanel,為現代女裝立下新定義,絕對是柔中帶剛的女性代表.
居於上環的Coco,雖不是滿嘴bonjour的法國女郎,反而帶澳洲血統;更意想不到的,是這裡的老闆兼咖啡師,其實是位男性.

小巷的紐約情懷 - Pizzeria Pubblico
喜愛吃薄餅,但對各地的特色pizza,例如說Napoleon/New York/Chicago/Brooklyn..等style pizza,還是認識很淺,始終香港人對pizza的認知就是來自從小吃到大的PizzaHut吧!
但自從提供巨型pizza的Paisano's大受歡迎開始,越來越多提供不同薄餅的餐廳在香港開張,為食如我當然樂見此景.
而個人非常喜歡的餐飲集團新霸ihm,除了深受歡迎的Posto Pubblico,Linguini Fini外,最近也加入pizza戰團,於蘇豪開張和Posto Pubblico一脈相承的Pizzeria Pubblico,和一街之隔的Paisano's正面對決.

嘩豉the蕉冷之一 - 聯興潮州菜館
西區多潮人,潮州嗰個潮。架己冷多的地方就有潮州菜館,所以西區不乏吃滷水和打冷的地方。早前活動範圍被限在西區,倒是也吃了三頓各有長短的潮菜,就來並列比併一下。
兩興和德記都是曾常光顧的菜館,惜不是已結業就是水準大跌。幸其班底也自立門户,令風味得以延續。
