鬍鬚兄弟 - Mostaccioli Brothers

每每步過Soho,目光總會不自禁,被那些繽紛得像聯合國總部的餐廳招牌吸引,叫人配服香港這彈丸之地,在多樣性和國際化方面,並不比很多大都市失色。


但偏偏一間餐廳不往上發展,反而鑽地下,鑽後院,招牌也低調非常,說的就是Mostaccioli Brothers


Mo Bros來頭可不少,和Grappas屬同一集團,供應滲入美國色彩的意大利菜。環境,卻和粗枝大葉的美菜大不同。從入口步下數步樓梯,就到達半露天的餐廳和酒吧,四處鳥語花香,叫人想起歐州的莊園風光,而非煩擾的鬧市,好舒服!


餐廳內部的樓底很高,加上牆上的田園油畫,引得一隻小鳥也飛進來,看來它也像我們對高樓大廈感到厭倦,更被餐廳的環境迷惑著,想來歇息歇息


走的既是家常美意菜路線,Monday to Sunday的午餐也比同區餐廳便宜不少,一百多元已吃得令人豐富又滿足。不過一場來到,當然是從a la carte選擇。餐牌上的菜名都是熟悉的,點菜無難度!


先送上盛在木板的麵包,微暖的溫度有點曖昧,幸好質感依然鬆軟,但氣孔過大反而令麵包吸收不到黑醋和橄欖油,感覺沒那麼滋味.


Caprese($80)是我在任何地方都愛點的頭盤,這天也不例外!這道簡單的頭盤主色為意大利國旗的紅,白和綠,這裡的interpretation為紅色的小番茄,白色的水牛芝士,綠色的pesto sauce和rocket leaves.甚麼!是苦澀多於甜的火箭菜,是連我這麼蔬菜怪仍覺得很澀很腥的一種沙-律-菜!唯一一種可以剋制其腥臭的只有意大利黑醋,但餐廳下得太少,所以我們只得硬著頭皮大嚼綠草,讓舌頭受罪了.

點了兩款Primo,分別是CarbonaraMostaoccioli


Carbonara($105)顏色較白,忌廉份量不多,做法比較意式.但意粉本身的味道淡,而且煮得帶稔,所以除了煙肉的點滴咸味,這道意粉沒甚麼特色能令人留下深刻印象.


反而是小鬍子粉Baked Mostaoccioli($125)更得人心.餐廳以這種類似通粉的通心意粉命名,照常理推斷是招牌菜.加進濃香的辣茄醬烤熟,熱騰騰的非常香!粉煮得不會過稔,卷狀部份得以卷進濃濃的茄香甜味,每口非常豐富,加上偏大的份量,有種很家常,很italian cooking mama的感覺,和餐廳casual的風格很吻合.


吃完Primo就來到Secondo,點了傳統的Veal Piccata($165),牛仔肉扒是也.之前在Posto Pubblico吃過,但這類的牛仔肉又無肉味,質感更是奇怪的粗糙,完全沒有想像中牛仔的嫩滑;少許檸檬汁亦不能減輕它的酥味和油膩感覺,所以雖份量不大,最終也沒有吃完.


本來想嘗試這類的甜品,但一來主菜份量太大,二來我們亦非’甜人’,所以作罷~但這裡的Cannoli(甜的炸通心甜品,加入甜ricotta芝士忌廉等)真的很吸引.但這裡的espresso頗香濃不酸,喝一杯又醒神又消滯,也許比甜品更適合餐後服用.



用同一價錢,在蘇豪乃或別處,相信很難能找到有質素的意菜;而且餐廳還境是貨真價實的’鳥語花香’!下次大家想讓眼睛放鬆一下,藏身蘇豪的這對鬍鬚兄弟也是價錢合理,又能提供舒服環境的不錯選擇.

  1. I like Mostaccioli Brothers, but I had it for dinner not lunch before, so don't quite know their performance during the day time. Their cannoli is pretty nice, its a pity that you didn't have the stomach for it! I didn't like the veal meither, but their salmon was really nice. And I love rockets :) you might grow to love it someday!

    1. Hey FC, thanks for such a prompt reply XD hm, i dont know about MB's cannoli, but that at Pizzeria Pubblico is definitely nice and you should try that out for comparison! As for salmon, i dont usually order fish in restaurants,i tend to think that Westerners cant do seafood as talented as chinese do. XD perhaps someday a Western fish dish will be able to cast away my biases :P but for rocket leaves, i am not so sure - 9 out of 10 of my encounter are bitter! :P
